Alisha Abdullah is a racing driver from India. She is India's first female national racing champion. She is regarded as India's only female bike racer and the fastest female racer in the country... Alisha then moved on to formula car racing and managed to come fifth in the JK Tyre National Racing Championship, 2004. She made the switch from four wheels to bikes in the same year. Talking about the change Alisha's father who noted, “The fact is formula car racing can get very expensive. Motorbike racing is easier to manage financially, and moreover, I know what is what in motorbike racing and I can guide her. So I asked Alisha to try bike racing."... Speaking during the launch of the academy, Alisha Abdullah said, “The aim of our academy is to identify and train the best female bike racers of the country. Starting with Hindustan University, we will be looking to identifying 100 potential racers from across the country, mostly targeting schools & colleges with the view of developing girls racing team in the year 2015.” Mr. Ashok Verghese, Director, Hindustan University said, “We are extremely happy to be associated with Alisha Abdullah with the launch of this unique academy, wherein aspiring women racers in the country can get a platform to showcase their racing skills. Also adding to the fact that we are the only University which is offering a Motorsports Engineering Degree, make this association a very special one.”
