1 Pandhu 4 Run 1 Wicket - Decent attempt with usual horror template

In the past two years, Tamil Cinema is witnessing a lot of horror films and has constantly pulled the movie goers frequently to the theaters. When few horror films turns out to be a real scary film, the rest are comedy and horror entertainer. The latest to join the latter's list is 1 Pandhu 4 Run 1 Wicket.

 Story

Lead character Krishna and heroine Hasika from Sivakasi are college going students and is deeply in love with each other. After Hasika completes her studies, her family members fix her wedding with her maternal uncle Senrayan. Owing to this, Hasika and Krishna elope to Chennai. In the big city, the young couple is helped by Jeeva, Krishna's friend and for the time-being, the two stays in bungalow. Suddenly Hasika is captured by an evil force and who ever touches her, the evil ghost inside her wakes up. Adding to this, the devil inside Hasika stops the other two from escaping the bungalow. In the end, who is this ghost, what are its demand, what happened to the others and the heroine, how it is narrated with comedy elements forms the crux of the story.

 Performance

With this film, debut actor Vinay Krishna from Andra Pradesh makes his debut in Tamil Cinema. The actor exhibits perfection in all the sequences and is more apt  for playing action hero. On the other hand, Hasika has as well done a good job in playing as the silent romantic girl as well as the terrific ghost. The actress indeed gets a good round of applause for her dialogues in the ghost-Hasika sequences.

Apart from the lead actors, the supporting roles have also done a great job. Actors like Senrayan, Lollu Sabha Jeeva, Munis Raja fom Nadhaswaram fame and Subburaj have really added their best to the humour quotients. It is worth mentioning that Senrayan, Dindigul Saravanan and Subburaj have done an exceptional performance.

  Plus

Music of Umesh is quite pleasing and Cinematography is indeed very colourful. As an added bonus, debut filmmaker Veera has kept the film simple. The screenplay keeps the film quite interesting and the second half makes the film even more entertaining.

 Minus

Well the background score could have been even more better during the thriller sequences and Cinematography of Karthik Nallamuthu offers nothing new.

To cap it all, 1 Pandhu 4 Run 1 Wicket is filled with thriller, suspense and entertainment that keeps the audience very engaged.
