Saagasam is an action comedy film directed by Arun Raj Varma and written and produced by Thiagarajan. The film features Prashanth and newcomer Amanda in the roles, while an ensemble cast including, Thambi Ramaiah, Vamsi Krishna and Abi Saravanan portrays supporting roles. The film, is a remake of Telugu film Julai.

Prashanth's father and actor, director, producer Theyagarajan has produced 'Saagasam' on a huge scale under his Staar Movies banner. Australian model Amanda makes her Tamil acting debut playing the female lead role in this film.

STORY

Saagasam movie is all about hero Prashanth, who will recover the money which is bank robbed by Antagonist Sonu Sood. The movie has all elements like Family values, sentiments, action and comedy. Ravi (Prashanth) is a free going guy and he bets on his father that he will gain one lakh Rupees for ten thousand in just two hours.

During this betting he will be caught by police and during the investigation he estimates that Bittu (Sonu Sood) will rob the bank which values Rs.1500 Crores. His guess would be correct but the robbery will be completed before the police reach the bank.

Sonu Sood will be caught by the police and his brother will die. Sonu will assume that Prashanth has killed his brother and plans to take a revenge on Prashanth.

A few good scenes in between and finally Prashanth gets back all the 1500 Crores from Sonu Sood.

PERFORMANCES

Prashanth without any doubt has done his part really well. The actor scores in action, comedy, romance and sentiment. Even though this is the first movie of Director Arun Raj Varma he has directed this movie with good effort and there is no doubt this movie is a good comeback from Prashanth.

Comedian Thambi Ramaya played one of the lead roles in this movie and the scenes which came between Prashanth and Thambi Ramayana are out and out entertainer.

Thaman’s music and Background score are one of the major assets of this movie.
