Aadama Jaichomada - No logics, only entertainment

Films based on cricket gambling aren’t a rarity in Tamil cinema and we had earlier seen a powerful film ‘Mankatha’ based on the same theme. But here, Aadama Jaichomada turns up to be a satirical take on the film with a lot of humour and suspense laced together. Let us take a look on the film’s synopsis followed by a crystal clear analysis.

Story

A call taxi driver by profession, Karunakaran is found in a deplorable situation of returning back a huge loan amount of Rs 10 lakhs. He is already married to Vijayalakshmi and is on the verge of critical situation. At this juncture, he comes across a close friend Balaji who promises to help him with the huge amount soon after the cricket match in Chennai is over. Exhilarated with joyful enthusiasm, Karunakaran on occasion visits the hotel where Balaji is put up and is thrown into absolute shock on finding him murdered. Immediately, Karunakaran is held responsible for it and the cop in investigation is none other than Bobby Simha.

Performance

The casting looks pretty interesting as it consists of much young generation of actors on the super roll. Karunakaran has been making his presence in small roles and indeed amused everyone. This time, he appears as a hero and as an innocuous boy, he strikes with a good show. Bobby Simha appears in a comedic role and as a cop with the ambitious run of finding the real culprit, he does a neat job. He evokes laughter in the right places. The scenes involving Bobby Simha and his commissioner KS Ravikumar are really hilarious. Radharavi and Aadukalam Naren – the scenes of combination involving them add up some fun. Vijayalakshmi doesn’t get much scope, but does her portions well.

Plus

Director Badri has made it clear with his motive and it is about entertaining the audience with a fun filled comedy caper. The casting of actors and their performances turn up to be a good highlight in this film. There are certain instances that keep you engaged and the way Badri opens up the mystery is quite appreciable. The dialogues written by Mirchi Shiva are funny ones and some of the witty one liners boost up the comedy factors.

Minus

While making a comedy entertainer is the motto of Badri, he fails to maintain the logic in many places. The songs aren’t so much enjoyable and they hamper the progress of film’s screenplay at few points.

As on whole, ‘Aadama Jaichomada’ is a film of entertainment that might ruin your mood if you’re looking out for logics. If a film to watch for relaxation is your plan, then this one is a good choice.

Verdict : No logics, only entertainment

Stars : 2/5
