Jai Hind 2 - intriguing in parts, but hackneyed throughout.

Action King Arjun's evergreen socio-commercial entertainer makes huge waves even two decades after its release. The film had every element to be considered as a best entertainer laced with lots of thrill, comedy, glamour and racy moments. The sequel as claimed by Arjun titled ‘Jai Hind 2’ is actually not a sequel, but carries the same ingredients. This time, he is not fighting against the terrorists, but keeps himself to the justice of educational system that has lots of loopholes and disregards.

 Story

Arjun is an ordinary person running a computer service company and also teaches Karate in free school. Everything goes perfect in his life until a family in the neighbourhood commits suicide as they are unable to pay off the school fee dues of their daughter. Taking up this issue, Arjun tries to bring the public glare for finding a solution. Meanwhile, some of the corporate kind of private school administrators feels the reason to keep him dumb and they make sure of pushing Arjun into the prison. The rest of this story is about how he settles the scores

 Performance

Arjun as usual sleepwalks through his role performing action sequences and emoting specifically in perfection to his characterisations is really worthy of appreciations. Although some of his mannerisms and performance reminiscence of his previous flicks, he gets to core of good nuance acting. Nandini who appears during the flashback sequences tries to impress us vividly and is quite good indeed. The little girl emotes splendidly and does her part well.

 Plus

Seasons may change, but the concept of educational errors and social issues are always considered to the hardcore interest of audiences. Similarly, Jai Hind 2 also gets the same scope. Arjun’s performance is really appreciative and certain issues introduced by various characters who come into the life of Abhimanyu, the role performed by Arjun are creatively imprinted in the screenplay.

 Minus

Regardless of the intriguing issue, the film carries hackneyed concept of many of the previous films of Arjun. Say for instance, the educational crisis reminds us off Gentleman and the tete-a-tete with media channels and journalists is a clear replication of Mudhalvan and his affection with little girl is nothing but a clear close similarity with Aanai, a remake of Hollywood film Man on Fire. Although the first half is something more connected to social issues, the second half is very much bound to action sequences, which makes the film little hackneyed.

On the whole, Jai Hind 2 is something more on the social issues laced with the collage of previous movies from Arjun. But it is little engaging in parts and might appeal to the socially connected audiences, who love such issue based films.

Verdict : intriguing in parts, but hackneyed throughout.

Stars : 2.5/5
