Darling 2 is a much awaited Tamil Horror comedy movie, sequel of Darling, which was released in 2015. Darling 2 is directed by debutante director Satish Chandrasekaran and produced by K.E. Gnanavel Raja under production company Rite Media Works. The film features Kalaiyarasan, Rameez Raja, Kaali Venkat, Arjunan and Maya in the lead roles. Radhan composes the music for the film. Think Music acquired the audio rights. This movie is scheduled to release on April 1st, 2016.

The film was earlier titled as JINN, but producer K. E. Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green made this as the second part of his previous film Darling, which was also about a group of youngsters in a bungalow being terrorized by a ghost, he decided this could be part of the franchise. The film is set in Valparai and the team has shot in the famous bungalow that was featured in MGR’s Anbe Vaa film.

STORY

Darling 2 Story is the concept is based on the real-life incident which occurred in Debutant Director Satish Chandrasekaran Life. When the director Chandrasekaran was on a road trip with five friends in 2012 when they experienced frightening events at the resort where they were staying overnight.

“That night each of us experienced strange situations there but for fear of being ridiculed by the others, we did not share it,” he said. It is only when one of them could not bear it any longer that the seriousness of the situation hit the group. The following day they left the resort. Using this incident as the plot of Darling 2, Chandrasekaran wrote his script.

“What if the friends had stayed on at the resort? How would it have affected everyone?” he asks.

It is a Story of five friends who decide to break free from their monotonous office routine and started on a journey to a hill station. Without knowing that a deadly spirit has possessed one of them, they travel together and check into a traveler’s bungalow. The chilling incidents that follow the rest of the story. The movie story revolves around them with lots of trills and twists in it. It is an excellent horror thriller movie. Munish Kanth plays a forest officer who is an avid fan of Rajinikanth and calls himself Valpaarai Varadan. A love story has been woven into this horror tale. Newcomer Maya, a dentist by profession plays Aisha, a Muslim girl living in Vaalpaarai, where the story is based.

PERFORMANCE

Rameez Raja and Maya stole the appreciation form audiences. Normally cinematography decides hit/flop for Horror film. The Cinematography works well in this flick. The night shots are captured well and graphic works add value to the story. Radhan’s music and especially the BGM’s go hand-in-hand with the genre. Kalaiyarasan is a good find. He seems to be growing from strength to strength in every movie of his. In Darling 2, he plays a solo hero and the opportunity that he has not missed out. He utilises it well to play a bewildered man finding ways and means to combat spirit. Kali Venkat, Arjun, Muneesh kanth, Jhonny have also given best performances to film.
