Dhilluku Dhuddu - Can See Once for Comedy!
REVIEW
Dhilluku Dhuddu is a 2016 Tamil slapstick comedy horror Movie, which is directed by Rambala and produced by N. Ramasamy under the banner of Sri Thenandal Films.
Dhilluku Dhuddu is a horror comedy film which is directed by Rambala. The director and actor Santhanam had a very good collaboration before when the director Rambala has directed Santhanam for the comedy spoof serial Lollu Sabha.
Santhanam is pairing with new comer Shanaya in this movie and along with them in the lead roles, the movie also stars Hindi actor Saurabh Shukla, Karunas, Mottai Rajendran, Anandaraj and few others as the important cast. Deepak Kumar Pathy has done the cinematography and Gopi Krishna has handled the editing department. S Thaman has composed the music for this film and background score is very important in films like this.
STORY
The story of "Dhilluku Dhuddu" takes from when the villain captures some characters in order to take revenge from the hero for falling in love with his daughter. The hero (Santhanam) and heroine (Shanaya) are madly in love but like in usual films, their relationship is opposed by her father played by Saurabh Shukla.
In order to break them apart, her father uses the help of a baddie (Mottai Rajendran) to teach the boy a lesson. The villain now hatches a plan and ensures to bring Santhanam to a haunted house without knowing that the bungalow is affected by spirits. The remaining part of the story turns out to be a rib tickling affair.
PERFORMANCE
It wouldn't be an overstatement to say the entire film rides on Santhanam's ability to keep his audiences occupied and happy. His one-liners and other antics is what makes this film work. Newcomer Shanaya is a serious mismatch as the girl makes it obvious that she is a complete stranger to Tamil with her awful lip-sync. Acting wise too, she comes across as a major disappointment, making her presence one of the weakest links of Dhilluku Dhuddu. Rest of the supporting cast including Rajendran, Karunas, Saurabh Shukla and Anandaraj have done their part well.
Thanks to some dull romantic portions and unwanted songs, in which Santhanam fails miserably as a dancer after trying too hard, the first half manages to test your patience a touch. Second half though is a complete laugh-riot as the spoof element finally kicks in, making the rest of the film enjoyable. Cinematography by Deepak Kumar Pathy is refreshingly good as he has used different colors and angles to suit the mood of the film.
