Jil Jung Juk - Over Hyped! Can be seen once!
REVIEW
Jil Jung Juk is a Tamil comedy film directed by Deeraj Vaidy, starring Siddharth, Sananth Reddy and Avinash Raghudevan in the leading roles. This is the 25th film of Siddharth. Originally set to release on 25 December 2015, the film was postponed to Feb 12th 2016 due to the crew's efforts in assisting victims of the Chennai floods.
The movie has a great expectation from the audience in spite of a new young team, because of its uniqueness. The film has impressed everyone with its teaser, songs, trailer and even the latest promo video.
STORY
Set in 2020, Jil Jung Juk is about three characters who are assigned the task of delivering a truckload of cocaine to a Chinese gang by the most dreaded Mafioso, portrayed by Amarendran.
The rest of the film revolves around their journey and the suffering they get into while engaged in their mission. How do they free themselves from all the difficult situations this journey throws at them and what happens to their assignment forms the crux of Jil Jung Juk.
After the first 60-odd minutes, the tricks of Jil, Jung and Juck begin to feel difficult, and the laughs are forced. It is not easy to spin a comedy of 132 minutes, and none of the actors seem capable of pulling off the laugh riot, which is a fantasy of sorts. Maybe, a 90-minute roll could have kept us delighted. And Indian cinema, certainly Tamil cinema, is really not expert at producing a comedy, a black comedy at that, without resorting to kiddish pranks on screen.
PERFORMANCE
The three main characters are the backbone of the movie. Their expressions and dialogue deliveries lighten up the mood. RJ Balaji for sure makes an impact though he comes only for a few minutes. Amarendran has portrayed his role effectively.
Both Radharavi and Nasser show what experience is all about. Siddharth once again proved that he is an exceptional actor.
Two important people who life the movie to a step ahead are Shreyaas Krishna through his cinematography and Vishal Chandrashekhar by his background score.
