Cheran is known for his hard hitting melodramas like Bharathi Kannama, Auto Graph and Thavamai Thavamirinthu, now the director is back with JK Ennum Nanbanin Vaazhkai which was in cans for a long time. Let’s see how the film has turned out to be….

Plot

JK, Jeya Kumar is a carefree youngster who doesn’t respect his parents and he is leading a normal life with 35k salary per month. One day his friend dies in an accident which turns his life and he becomes an responsible son, good friend and his total approach towards the life got changed. He becomes a successful business man and fulfills the need of his family, at one point of time we are shown that he is going to die soon because of a brain tumor and hence he has done all these things within two years of his life.

The film’s biggest plus is being a heavy subject, it never had a dull moment instead the film gives a pleasant inspiration feel to the viewers which is refreshing. Sharwanand looks casual and cool in his performance, the actor is sure to stay in Kollywood for a long time. Nithya Menon has once again given a superb performance in JK Ennum Nanbanin Vaazhaki as an asthma affected fashion designer.

Prakash Raj, Jayaprakash, Santhanam and Manobala have also given nice performances in the movie.  Cinematography by Siddharth is rich and every frame is eye pleasing with colorful visuals.

Minus

The second half of the film moves at a slow pace and it might work against the movie. The actors who have performance as the parents of Sharwanand’s friends are not convincing, a better casting would have done the trick.Also GV Prakash Kumar’s songs are not catchy which is another big drawback for the movie.

Bottom Line

JK Ennum Nanbanin Vaazhkai is definitely a different Cheran film with a Gautham Menon kind of treatment.
