Kaaka Muttai - Poetry in Celluloid
Kaaka Muttai is a national award winning film. Not one but two awards , so certainly the film will get positive reviews but we assure that the film will also entertain the common audience in the same way it impressed critics and national award juries because the film has been executed with interesting elements like mid humors, feel good factor and satirically teased the current scenario of media, opportunists and rich industrialist along with the innocence of two slum kids .
Plot
Chinna Kaaka Muttai (Vignesh) and Periya Kaaka Muttai (Ramesh) are living a peaceful life with their mom (Ishwarya) who is worrying about her husband who is in prison for some reason. Both the brothers are having many dreams, first they want a TV and to their luck the government’s free TV occupies their small home. Later they see Simbu opens a pizza shop in a place they used to steal crows’s egg. Now both the brothers want to taste a pizza but it costs them 300 bucks. They are earning money by selling kilos of coal but the security refuse to allow them inside.
The two kids think that their costume is the issue and starts earning more money and now they enter into the shop with brand new Tees. Unexpectedly, the restaurant manager slaps the periya Kaaka Muttai and children in nearby slums capture the incident in their mobile. The video footage is now in the hands of two opportunists who blackmail the restaurant owner to get big sum as compensation. To their misfortune, the video is already up in TV channels and now the restaurant owner should find a way to restore his reputation by inviting the kids to his new showroom but the kids gone missing!Watch out the climax on silver screen…
Positives
The acting of the two kids is extremely real and their innocent face is big plus. Ishwarya Rajesh who acted as a mom to both the brothers is also has given her career best performance.
The supporting casts including Ramesh Thilak, Babu Antony are also top notch and their one liners are highly entertaining.Music by GV Prakash Kumar is a big plus, especially the background score is on a different level.
Cinematography by Manikandan is also a major strength for the movies as the visuals are so lively and colorful.
Negatives
There is no big negative in the movie, except for the slow pace in some places.
