Kodi - Engaging !

REVIEW

Kodi is a mass action film in which Dhanush will be seen in dual roles. His character roles are already seen in the trailer of Kodi. He has collaborated with RS Durai Senthil Kumar, who has two hits to his credit — Ethir Neechal and Kaaka Muttai, both produced by the Kolaveri di maker.

Kodi stars Trisha Krishnan as the lead actress. It is her first outing with Dhanush. Anupama Parameswaran of Malayalam blockbuster Premam fame will be seen in an important character in the movie, along with Ilayathalapathy Vijay's father SA Chandrasekhar. Saranya Ponvannan, Kaali Venkat, Singamuthu, Namo Narayana and others are in supporting roles.

The film features cinematography by Venkatesh S, while Prakash Mabbu has edited the political thriller. Santhosh Narayanan's Ei Suzhali, Kodi Parakkudha and Sirukki Vaasam songs have turned out to be chartbusters.

STORY

Kodi movie story is about a nuclear plant that is coming up near a village, which sets a ball of destruction rolling across the village and the lives of all those involved. Now, who the lead characters Kodi and Rishi will stop the plant construction in village. whether the plant is ultimately built or not forms the crux of the story.

PERFORMANCE

The first half of the movie is a very good entertainer with a very good family backdrop. The second half of the movie is a complete action entertainer where you love watching Dhanush in a complete action avatar. The movie is a political thriller where the real plot unveils in the interval bang.

The film showcases all the tricks and tactics used by Indian politicians to reach the heights of power. One character played by Dhanush is that of a common man, while the other one is a daring politician.

One of the major highlights of this movie is the excellent performance by Trisha Krishnan. The actress has enacted a role with grey shades for the first time, and she has excelled in it completely. Saranya Ponvannan who enacts the character of Dhanush's mother too has did a fine job.

Songs like Sirukki Vaasam between Dhanush and Trisha is very good. Music in the film is also said to be one of the plus points. Venkatesh's cinematography is top notch, and the visuals are soothing. Santhosh Narayanan's songs were all peppy, and the editing by Prakash Mabbu is sleek.
