Mapla Singam is the Tamil Action Rom-Com movie directed by Rajasekhar featuring Vimal and Anjali in the leading roles, with Soori in a supporting role. Mapla Singam released World Wide on this Friday 11th march 2016 In 500 Screens.

Radharavi, Kaali Venkat, Madhumitha, Ramdoss, Singampuli, Mayilsamy and Manobala are also playing important roles in the film. Mapla Singam movie has faced so many repeated postponements. The film has to release in the theaters last year in September but it got delayed several times. Finally, now it has seen a release date.

STORY

The film is set in a village and is about two warring families with political backgrounds, narrated in a witty manner.

Vimal plays the nephew of the village chairman and is busy with katta panchayats, court cases, etc. During one such usual activity, he runs into Anjali, who is a junior lawyer. Vimal and Anjali, the lead characters belonging to the enemy families and stand opposite for everything. Vimal is this carefree youngster whereas Anjali is a lawyer. Heading Vimal’s family is Radharavi and on the other side is Ramdas. While Radharavi is actually the head and Ramdass is on the opposition.

Vimal and his friends Soori and Kaali Venkat is a unique gang. Antagonists to love, they separate all couples who fall in love and have gained the bad name and enmity from many. They do this with the kind of influence they have from Radharavi’s political presence.

Things turn worlds apart when Vimal’s sister Madhumila falls in love with Anjali’s brother Vishnu. Vishnu and Madhu are aware of Vimal’s activities and the fight between the two families, hence plan to elope. In the attempts to separate them and stop them from running away, Vimal actually flips over and goes head on heals for Anjali. Does this end the family disputes? No, the fall out grows further as Radharavi and Ramdoss don’t give up. Then comes the election which calls for more fights. Radharavi makes Vimal the lead candidate and Ramdass, Anjali. Campaigns are powerful!! Who wins? Do the families and lovers unite? You will have to get the answers in theatres.

PERFORMANCE

It’s a full comedy film. But unfortunately most of the comedy scenes and counter dialogues does not bring smile on our face. Director has used action and comedy equally good. Mapla Singam is a political drama. But this is a fictional story and does not talk about the Tamil political scenario. So the movie will not get any trouble. It is also not at all a serious movie. N. R. Raghunanthan has composed the music and the songs are good. Cinematography portions are well done, the village portions are a feast for eyes.
