MS Dhoni The Untold Story - One of the Best Biopic..!

REVIEW

MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is a biographical film, based on the life of Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The film also stars Anupam Other, Kiara Advani, Disha Patani and Bhoomika Chawla in key roles. While the makers have stayed away from the controversies surrounding Dhoni's life, his personal life has been fully explored.

This Movie has been released in many languages Like Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Marathi. The movie is the directed by Neeraj Pandey and featuring Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead role. Besides penning dialogues, Neeraj Pandey has written the story and screenplay for the movie in collaboration with Dilip Jha. Arun Pandey has jointly produced the film with Fox Star Studios.

The Untold Story’, based on Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s life, is said to be India’s widest release as it simultaneously opens in cinemas across 60 countries.

STORY

The story of the movie is based on the life incidents of Indian Cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The movie shows the struggle of M.S Dhoni and his journey of becoming a cricketer.

MS Dhoni: The Untold Story introduces MS Dhoni as a goal keeper in his school days. He is then seen taking up cricket and turning a district level player in the first half of the movie. The second half deals with his career as a full time cricketer, the ups and downs he sees with his team and his love life.

PERFORMANCE

The film, has an interesting and inspiring screenplay that keeps the viewers engaged right from the begin till the end. As Dhoni, Sushant Singh Rajput has delivered brilliant performance, which is the main highlight of the movie. Disha Patani, Kiara Advani, Herry Tangri, Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Bhumika Chawla and Rajesh Sharma have done justice to their roles.

The movie also has good production values. Amaal Mallik and Rochak Kohli's songs, Sanjoy Chowdhury's background score and santosh Thundiyil's cinematography are the attractions on the technical front.

The film has tried to recreate his journey, with painstaking attention to detail. practically 95% of the venues showcased in the film are authentic. Whether it’s his parent’s home in Ranchi, his school or the cricket grounds. Not to mention securing permission from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as well as other cricket administrators, and cricket boards across the world. As well as video footage from broadcasters.

There was also the added challenge of ensuring Rajput perfected his cricketing skills on screen. There was no faking it there, and the actor went through 13 months of rigorous training with cricket coach and former Indian wicket-keeper Kiran More, and a video analyst who would break down Dhoni’s shots including his signature helicopter shot into frames, explaining the transfer of weight and bat angle. And the hardwork has payed off on screen.

The entire focus is on Dhoni who is shown as the sole match-winner from the Indian side. His team-mates, which include Indian cricketing greats (Saurav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and others), are seen in flashes, either from the back or in profile. There are no dressing room scenes with Dhoni-as-captain strategizing with his team-mates. No scenes, in fact, with other players, except for a couple of stray ones with Yuvraj Singh (Harry Tangri).
