Nambiar - A Different Plot! A better Screenplay could have helped!
REVIEW
Nambiar is an upcoming Indian Tamil science fiction comedy film written and directed by debutante Ganeshaa, who was an associate to S. S. Rajamouli. It stars comedian Santhanam in the title character(Nambiar), alongside Srikanth and Sunaina in the lead roles. Produced by Srikanth’s home production Golden Friday Films, the film is named after the veteran actor M. N. Nambiar who was famous for his villainous roles in yester-year Tamil cinema. Vijay Antony scored the soundtrack and original scores for the film.
STORY
Ramachandran (Srikanth) has a mix of positive and negative thoughts just like any other normal person in Nambiyaar. What’s exciting and new with this plot is that the negative thought Nambiyaar gets a figure in the form of Santhanam. Whenever the hero progresses to do something, the negative thought influences him and makes his life miserable. This cat and mouse game between the duo is what Nambiyaar all about.
PERFORMANCE
Srikanth has given his best. It is so obvious that he has improved a lot in acting. Santhanam and his one liners are one of the highlights in the flick. Sunaina is seen after a long time and she has bright role and she is een throughout the movie. The film is full of comedy with a twist of science and fiction. After 24 which was the huge super hit film, the demand for science fiction movies increasing with a good hype in the Tamil Industry.
As a debutant director, Ganeshaa has tried a very different plot. The story is refreshing but the screenplay is quiet draggy at places. But he have done a notable job for his first movie. A better screenplay could have taken it to good place. Cinematography is sleek, showing Chennai beautifully. Vijay Antony’s Music is one of the plus to the movie and his Back ground score is also immpressive.
