Orange Mittai - Middling feel good entertainer
Vijay Sethupathi has grabbed out attention with his initial films like Pizza, Soodhu Kavvum and Idharku Thaane Aasaipattai Balakumara but after that his wrong choice of films shook his stardom that the actor is in need of giving a massive hit.
Despite having such a huge pressure, Vijay Sethupathi has chosen an offbeat venture for his debut production venture. Does Vijay Sethupathi succeeds with Orange Mittai? Read on to know...
Plot
Sathya (RJ Thilak) is an EMT who works in the emergency ambulance. One fine day he gets a call from his supervisor saying that a patient named Kailasam (Vijay Sethupathi) is suffering from heart attack. The journey between this EMT and the old man goes beyond that and ends up with a positive climax.
Plus
The film's major positive is the simple yet confusion less screenplay. Also, Vijay Sethupathi's performance as the old man is spellbinding.
The comedy sequences between RJ Thilak his sidekick and Vijay Sethupathi has come out really well.
The crisp running time of the movie us another major plus point.
Minus
Except Vijay Sethupathi most of the other character's didn't and their characterizations are not detailed. It looks like the idea of making the movie crisp has actually pushed to have abrupt characters who could have been avoided.
Bottom Line
The bottom line is that Orange Mittai is a feel good movie and it can be watched once for Vijay Sethupathi's performance and the novel storyline.
Verdict : Middling feel good entertainer
Stars : 2.5/5
