REVIEW
 
Pencil is the Tamil film directed by debutante director Mani Nagaraj who is the assistant director of Gowtham Vasudev Menon.This film is produced by SS.P.ragavesh under Kalsan Movies Pvt Ltd banner. This film features Actor/Music Director G.V.Prakash in the male lead role and actress Sri Divya played the female lead in the film. Cinematography for the film has been done by Gopi Amarnath and Editing of the film is handled by Anthony.
 
Actor/Music Director G.V.Prakash played the male lead in this film and Actress Sri Divya who played the female lead in this film. Along with this cast Actor VTV Ganesh and Urvashi, T.P.Gajendran, Abshek Shanka, Ravi Prasad are also part of this film.
 
Srividya started acting in Pencil right after her debut movie. Actually, this is the debut movie of G.V.Prakas Kumar which was started way back in 2014, but due to some unknown reasons, the movie was shelved. Both GVP and Sridivya play higher secondary students in the film.
 
STORY
 
Pencil is a romantic thriller featuring GVPrakash Kumar as Siva and Sri Divya as Maya, who will be classmates throwing pranks on each other. The school witnesses a murder, and a mystery surrounds it. This affects the students that send a chill down their spines. The movie is a crime suspense thriller that revolves around the murder mystery of a high school student.
 
Two friends of the murdered student have to find his killer before the next class starts. A task made particularly urgent by the fact that in 40 minutes the rest of the class will return and the body will be discovered. The pair set out in search of the murderer and soon discover that just about everyone’s a suspect and even more unsettling, the murderer is now after them as well. Who is the murderer and what happens next? You will have to witness it in the big screen.
 
PERFORMANCE
 
Although GV has evolved as an actor, Pencil is his first movie at acting. He looks much younger and can be related close to the character. There are a couple of scenes the viewers can realize that it’s GV’s debut movie. 
 
Sri Divya is playing lead role in the movie with G V Prakash Kumar, and the actors are having an amazing chemistry. This seems to be a good outing for actress Sri Divya whose last movie Bangalore Naatkal did not earn her much name. Her performance as Maya is stunning. She fits the role of a high school kid and has emoted well.
 
The presence of actors VTV Ganesh and Urvashi are good. They have done an excellent job. Shariq Hassan too scores well in acting.
 
Director Mani Nagaraj, apart from writing the script the filmmaker has molded the movie to the present trend. But unfortunately the movie seems very similar to the Korean film, "4th Period Mystery," which was released internationally as "The Clue" is 2009.
 
GV Prakash Kumar's music and Gopi Amarnath's cinematography are the big attractions on the technical front.
