Rangoon is an upcoming Tamil action crime drama starring growing actor Gautham Karthik in the lead role. The film was directed by Rajkumar Periasamy and produced by AR Murugadoss. The film director was the associate of AR Murugadoss. Anish Tharun Kumar was worked as a cinematographer.
While, Sana Makbut, Lallu, Siddique, Daniel Annie Pope plays the other roles. Vikram RH composes the film’s music and the background music was composed by Vishal Chandrasekhar.
The film shooting was mostly taken at Chennai, and the remaining parts are made in Myanmar.
STORY
A thrilling action-drama about three friends who are betrayed during a high-value gold deal in Burma. The film is set against the never-before explored Burmese community in North Chennai. The three friends who do small business in Chennai will be exporting some illegal goods out of the country like gold and gets caught in between the events. The film is all about how this is going to work out and what happens next can be watched in the theater.
PERFORMANCE
Rangoon is Gautham Karthik’s best work till date and it could very well give his career a much-needed break. Adequate concentration has been given to make Gautham look like a real slum boy. The overall setup is indigenous right from the set designs, characters involved, their slang and also the dialogues. Another worthy mention is Lallu, the boy from KTVI and 8 Thottakkal.
Rangoon is a criminal offense mystery with the core being smuggling. over the years, we've come across quite a few films that speak almost unlawful buying and selling but wherein Rangoon scores is whilst it offers every other dimension to the general idea. This one is greater actual and in depth than the peak of the Tamil movies that handled similar standards.
We cannot avoid having a question about the need for love track in the film. It is totally unnecessary and the movie could have been still better without the romance portion. May be the director wanted to play safe and wished the love line would invite young audience to the theater.
The screenplay is excellent in the first half but some might experience that the second half is a slight draggy. The emotions look real in utmost situations; but, scenes might have been portrayed great. In all likelihood, Rangoon is Gautham Karthik’s worth pictures till date and it can completely deliver his career a far-needed total. Good enough awareness has been given to make Gautham appear to be a real slum boy.
