Sandamarutham - Tests our patience
Supreme Star Sarathkumar is back to what he is known for, a pucca action masala entertainer. Does his recent release Sandamarutham is enjoyable fun ride like his successful hit commercial movies in the past? Read on to know….
Plot
Sarveswaran(Sarathkuamar) is an evil whose only aim in life is to become the richest man in the country and he supplies deadly chemical bomb to rampage India, when Sarvesawaran is planning to attack in 101 locations in India there comes another Sarathkumar, who is a cop and straightaway he encounters Sarveswaran’s right hand Rangarajan (Radharavi). Now Sarvesawaran turns his high voltage fierce mode on and takes Suriya’s family and cop friends as hostages. Will Suriya turn victorious by killing Sarvewaran? Watch out in big screen….
Performance
Sarathkumar has given a lifeless performance in Sandamarutham. The actor is loud and stereotypical as the villain Sarveswaran. The cop Suriya on the other hand spends most of his time in romancing Oviya, Meera Nanda and does the so called comedy with Thambi Ramiah.
The other actors are also too loud that the film gives a mega serial feel rather than a film which will be enjoyed by the present generation audience.
Plus
Novel writer Rajesh Kumar has used few scientific terms and some crime factors like the Silicon fish, plastic surgery and chemical bomb in the movie which is the one and only plus in the movie.
Minus
Nothing is more annoying than a film tries too hard to be entertaining. Guess director A Venkatesh has went straight to the shoot and not even had proper preparation.
The film offers nothing new, all we are seeing is the same old clichéd family, villains, comedians, glamorous heroine and what not? Is this the way to entertain audience, Venkatesh should seriously learn from the newcomers who are executing new ideas in commercial cinema template.
Bottom Line
Sandamarutham is one film where everything is outdated except for the title which definitely needs a dictionary to find out the meaning.
Verdict : Tests our patience
Stars : 2/5
