Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen - Nothing Special – Can See Once!
REVIEW
Director Ezhil, who has worked with stars like Vijay and Ajith, has teamed up with Udhayanidhi Stalin for Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen. The Tamil film has Regina Cassandra and Srushti Dange in the female leads, while Soori will be seen in the role of a comedy villain. It has D Imman's music, KG Venkatesh's cinematography and K Anand Lingakumar's editing.
The movie also has the strong supporting actors like Livingston, Manobala, Kuraishi, Ravi Mariya, G. M. Kumar, Chaams, Mansoor Ali Khan, Vidyullekha Raman, Robo Shankar, Jangiri Madhumitha, Madhan Bob, and Yogi Babu.
STORY
Saravanan (Udhay) is a carefree youngster, who doesn’t have any big aim in life but when his uncle Kalyanam (Soori) becomes the head of a newly formed National Political Party, he agrees to attract more members. However, due to a drunkard photographer, Saravanan becomes the Tamil Nadu head of the political party and they send Kalyanam (Soori) to Dubai as a local politician Veera Singam (Mansoor Ali Khan) is in search for him. Meanwhile, Saravanan meets her childhood friend Then Mozhi (Regina Cassandra) and falls in love with her but the latter still remembers an age old ego clash and refuses to marry him.
To Saravanan’s luck, his dead friend Fathima (Srushti Dange) comes as a great help (!!) and how she unites him with Then Mozhi forms the rest of the story.
PERFORMANCE
Udhayanidhi Stalin looks super assertive, his comic timing is quite good and also dances with comfort, he has also convincingly pulled off the action sequences. Regina is at her glamorous best in Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen. The much hyped funny one-liners of Soori didn’t work and it would have been great if Ezhil used Yogi Babu more as his portions comparatively worked better. The rest of the comedians including Mansoor Ali Khan, Chams and Madhumitha fail to attract us.
The biggest problem of Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen is not the predictable screenplay, we exactly know what Ezhil is capable of, his last film Velainu Vandhutta Velaikkaran is not a revolutionary script but what really worked is the genuinely worked funny moments. Unfortunately, Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen tries too hard to be funny that at many times, lazily written comic scenes in the film only tests our patience and ends up as a tiresome watch.
