REVIEW
 
Vaaimai is a Tamil movie featuring Shanthnu Bhagyaraj and Muktha Bhanu in the lead roles, written and directed by A. Senthil Kumar. The film marks the return of comedian Goundamani, while Ramki, Urvashi, Manoj K. Bharathi, Thyagarajan, and Poornima Bhagyaraj are also part of the film. The Film is said to be inspired from the Hollywood classic 12 Angry Men.
 
The team said it is 100 percent court room drama and political satire film. The team had touched experimental new genre script. The movie was shot extensively at Kollimalai, Delhi, Haridwar and Rishikesh. The team says it is non commercial film that talks about the present judiciary system.
 
STORY
 
Velan (Prithvi Pandiarajan) is punished to death for killing an important loving politician, His mother also faced the same punishment as she refused to open her mouth and decided to die like her son.
 
The judge decides to arrange a jury system. The team consists of Ramki an encounter specialist, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj a philosopher, Banu a pilot, Goundamani a doctor, Oorvashi a millionaire, Thyagarajan a military man, Manoj K Bharathi a stage actor and writer, a chaste Tamil speaking foreigner, Rose a transgender collector, Namo Narayanan a businessman, Ankitha an IT worker and Venkat a common man.
 
The group have two hours before an execution and start their discussion. What discussion did the board members have and what they decided forms the rest of the story.
 
PERFORMANCE
 
Shantanu Bhagyaraj, he should try to act naturally. Bhanu is quite convincing as the firebrand pilot but sadly her character underwritten like all the others.  Goundamani provides some comic relief with his top brand of satirical comedy, while Urvashi tries to match wits with him. Poornima Bhagyaraj Theyagarajan and Ramki the veterans fall prey to poorly depicted characterizations.  Bhagyaraj in his cameo, though little unconvincing as a SP.  Manoj K Bharathi follows the Shantanu route in acting. Prithvi has a blink and you miss role and he can consider that a boon judging by the fate of the others who have more screen time. Dialogue Writing is good throughout the movie. All other departments should have done better.
 
Director Senthil Kumar came up with a good story but failed to execute it as expected. But he has written the dialogues in a tremendous way!! Music is Ok and the cinematography work is also good.
