Yennai Arindhaal - Yennai Arindhaal might satisfy Ajith fans
After back to back hits with Arrambam and Veeram, Thala Ajith has teamed up with Gautham Menon for Yennai Arindhaal. As fans are expecting for this combo for nearly ten years, there is a huge anticipation but does the film really satisfy the expectation of the fans and neutrals alike? Read on to know…
Plot
As a small boy, Sathyadev’s (Ajith) mom wants him to be a doctor but some goons murder his father and hence he becomes an IPS officer. In an undercover mission, he develops a friendship with Victor (Arun Vijay) and kills the head, also arrests Arun Vijay. Now Arun Vijay kills Ajith’s fiancé Hemanika (Trisha). Now Ajith leaves his job to safeguard his daughter Isha (Anikha) but in order to save a teen, he gets back into investigation which leads to Arun Vijay who does organ trafficking. Now Arun Vijay wants Anushka so that he can transplant the heart to a wealthy industrialist but Ajith comes as an obstacle, now the rest of the film is see-saw game between the cop and the gangster.
Plus
The film’s biggest plus is Ajith who is killer mass in every scene given to him. His powerful dialogue delivery looks and stylish walk is sure to make his fans crazy. Not just that Ajith has emoted wonderfully in romantic portion which is something new as the actor has been seen as baddie in recent films.
Arun Vijay has given a powerful performance as a baddie and he shines in the last thirty minutes of the movie. His fit physique adds the extra strength to the movie. Among the two heroines, Trisha shines well and she looks extremely elegant in the short role. The love sequences between Trisha and Ajith are too good so as the father –child bond.
Minus
Yennai Arindhaal’s major disadvantage is that the film reminds us the early movies of Gautham Menon. We easily see the glimpses of Vettaiyadu Vilayadu and Khaka Khaka in the movie which makes it predictable. Anushka looks old and disinterested in a blunt role given to her and her introductory song is completely unnecessary.
Editing of the film is also not coherent that there is proper connect or flow for the film. Dialogues too sound artificial in few places.
Bottom Line
Yennai Arindhaal might satisfy Ajith fans who expected their star in classy avatar otherwise it is an ordinary film.
Verdict : Yennai Arindhaal might satisfy Ajith fans
Stars : 3/5
